Pouring 'molten salt' into fruit has explosive results

There seems to be an entire subculture of Youtubers hellbent on destroying various fruits and filming the results.

TheBackyardScientist is one of the best. His recent video, involving "molten salt," watermelons and a slow-mo camera is straight up explosive.

After melting normal table salt with a makeshift furnace, he uses a long pole to pour the liquid sodium into coconuts and watermelon. It reacts on contact with water, sending fruit shrapnel all across his lawn.
